CLAY, W.Va. — The Clay County Farmers Market invites residents and visitors to enjoy a free tomato sandwich and bottled water on Thursday, July 2, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., or while supplies last, at the Courthouse Square in downtown Clay.
The event is being held to celebrate the successful return of the Clay County Farmers Market following a short hiatus. Since reopening, the market has experienced strong community support and participation from local farmers, bakers, crafters, and food producers.
Visitors will have the opportunity to shop a variety of locally grown produce, homemade baked goods, handcrafted items, and other products while enjoying a complimentary tomato sandwich and bottled water.
The market is also proud to accept West Virginia Department of Agriculture Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program produce vouchers, helping eligible seniors access fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables.
This special event is sponsored by Clay Senior & Community Services. The Clay County Farmers Market is sponsored in part by Community Care and the Mountain Transit Authority, whose support helps make the market and community programs possible.
Market organizers encourage everyone to come out, support local vendors, and experience all that the Clay County Farmers Market has to offer.
