Wanita Ruth (Edwards) Koch
April 21, 1928 ~ May 13, 2026 (age 98)
May 13, 2026, Wanita Ruth Koch age 98 of Maysel, West Virginia went home to be with the LORD.
Wanita was a homemaker and loving Mother, raised in Wirt County, she graduated from Wirt County High School.
Wanita was a member of the Blue Knob Community Church and attended until the church shut down during the Covid outbreak and never reopened.
Wanita is proceeded in death by her husband Curtis H. Koch Sr, parents Bill and Rose Edwards, in-laws, John and Ida Koch. Several sisters, brother, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Also proceeded in death by daughters, Shirley Ann Case, Judy Diane Hall, Rebecca Rose Koch, Regina Ruth Koch; son, Fredrick Eugene “Gene” Koch, son-in-law, John Greenawald and great grandson “Christopher”.
Wanita is survived by her children, Addie Palecek of Maysel, Joan Rose (Kenneth) of Maysel, Betty Greenawald of Spencer, Curtis Koch Jr. (Jennifer) of Maysel and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Wanita will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is now in the presence of the Lord and with many family members and friends. Our prayer is that others will receive Christ as Lord and Savior and someday join her in Heaven.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Wilson Smith Funeral Home, Clay, WV with Pastor Ralph Davis officiating, visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Blue Knob Community Church Cemetery on Blue Knob Road, Maysel, West Virginia.
