A new chapter in local journalism is beginning with the launch of The Clay Communicator. The Communicator name reflects a long familiar legacy, but at its core, The Clay Communicator seeks to provide clear, fact-based reporting on local government, public affairs, and the stories that shape everyday life in Clay County.

The paper is co-owned by Aiden J. Taylor and Isaac T. Brown, who will guide its long-term direction and uphold its standards.

Clare J. Dawson will serve as Managing Editor, overseeing the newspaper’s day-to-day activities.

Dawson is responsible for leading reporting efforts, editing published material, and maintaining the accuracy, fairness, and clarity of the paper’s coverage. Her role is central to ensuring that The Clay Communicator meets high journalistic standards in every issue.

The Clay Communicator is committed to informing the public, holding local government and organizations accountable, and independence and transparency in how its reporting is conducted.
